While not technology or gear for dogs, this amazing new dog robot could help replace working dogs who currently face dangerous situations and keep them safe.

This robo dog, smaller and more nimble than similar predecessors, was developed by Boston Dynamics to traverse across terrain, nagivate tight spots, and withstand abuse (demonstrated in this video with kicks to the side). While I have not read about the intended purpose for this dog robot, I could only imagine it could be used in place of working dogs who join armed forces, are sent into buildings and more. Technology to detect scents, motion, and more is rapidly progressing these days and combined with such a robot I could see dogs not being used for such dangerous missions in the future.

What do you think about this technology?
