Welcome to the #DogsWithCarts Instagram contest, celebrating dogs in, with, around shopping carts! Or any other kind of cart! How natural is it to have a dog in or using a shopping cart? Not really natural, but it is quite fun. And how great is it to be able to take your dog shopping with you instead of sitting alone at home (and of course, never in a hot car).

So the DogsWithCarts contest is all about taking a photo – or even video – of your dog in, with, or in the vicinity of a shopping cart – or any other kind of cart (stroller, wheelbarrow, gokart) – and hashtagging it with #DogsWithCarts. Here is one example:

Don’t have Instagram? We’d still love to see your photos in the comments below (although unfortunately they can’t be entered into the contest).

Safety tips and FAQ

This is the most important part:
NEVER put a dog in danger or place a fearful dog into a situation where he or she may become upset. Any photos depicting this sort of behavior will immediately be disqualified.

Complete rules and further details with prize listings can be found by visiting FidoseofReality.com and StylishCanine.com and clicking on the #DogsWithCarts badge.

I’ve never put a dog in a cart? How do I start? Place a blanket or soft cover in a cart before putting your dog in it. This helps prevent paws and nails from getting stuck in the cart. Many stores allow well-behaved dogs in, so ask ahead and have fun.

Is this my only chance? Nope! Every month, a new prize, an updated theme, and the carts will be tricked out with swag galore for you and your dogs! All you need to do is get rolling and get snapping.

How Many Photos Can You Enter: As many as you like.

Where Do I Post Photos? Photos must be posted to your Instagram account with the hashtag #DogsWithCarts and tag @FidoseofReality and @StylishCanine in all entries. You must follow both @FidoseofReality and @StylishCanine in order for pictures to be eligible. Any photos submitted that do not follow these rules will not be eligible to win.

Ha this is great! I will have to get a photo together for it.

  • Hahaha! How fun! I am already plotting my entry.

  • When I first read this post, I thought ‘how fun…I’ll need to take some pictures’. Then I realized I already had pictures. You inspired me to write a post all about how I bought a shopping cart for my foster puppies to keep their paws off the ground. Just posted and shared on instagram.

  • What a fun thing to do :D
